MELISSA’S STORY

Melissa Rose Stockton, “Missy” as her family would call her, was an athletic, smart and caring young lady. She had a sport for every season.  She played soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, and softball & soccer in the spring.

Missy attended Cedar Crest College, River Valley Community College, and Granite State College.  She was a LNA studying to be a LPN/RN.  She would often say, “I’d love to keep going to college to just keep learning.”

Missy enjoyed volunteering at soup kitchens, the Humane Society, and with a business that makes natural tinctures.  She enjoyed her time playing her guitar and drawing.  Missy was a vegan and ate very healthy.  She would enter 5K road races that would help people and animals in need.  While traveling, she went grocery shopping and found a rescue dog in Puerto Rico.  Missy was so excited she called and told me, “I bought groceries and will be getting a dog in a few days.”

Missy loved Mustangs, motorcycles and 4 wheelers.  She had them all.  Her plates’ names were Zip & Zippy after her.  When riding her motorcycle with her family, she came up with doing a Dunkin Donuts ride.  A given amount of miles had to be done first because there is a Dunkin Donuts in every town.  They all would stop.

When she first got her license she signed up to donate her organs.   Missy struggled with depression for a while but she still continued to participate with life and tried to move forward in every way she could.

Missy has taught all of us a huge lesson.  “To give after you no longer can!”  She was a beautiful, kind, loving soul. Missy is still helping people through her donations – her heart, double lungs, liver, kidney/pancreas, kidney, and bone tissue.
