MALACHI’S STORY

“Malachi, our Malachi, he was a fantastic, terrific, awesome 14 year old young man.  He was a son, brother, best friend, comedian and security guard to a lot of people young and old!” said Anton McDaniels’ mother, Lashanna.   “He was the middle child. Malachi had dreams and the talent to be a baseball player (and yes, he was good!). He was a tough crybaby with a huge spirit.  He had an awesome smile that we truly miss.” His mother misses his late night/early morning security checks. His friends miss their teammate, brother and friend, and the family just misses his presence and his energy.

Malachi was 14 years of age when he passed away of gunshot wounds sustained while riding his bike through his neighborhood of 10 years.  “There are no words for a parent that loses their child… but broken!” Lashanna states.

But to know that his family and friends shared the terrific life that he lived with those who received his gifts and are now still able to run, jump, talk, breathe, yell, cry, laugh and hug and make more memories, is the best blessing out of all the bad and heartbreak.  Malachi is able to live on in the lives of others.

Malachi is truly, hugely missed.  Every day his mother thanks God for the chance to have carried him, loved him and been able to watch him grow into the awesome kid he was for 14 years.  She is even more grateful to know that he continues to live on in the lives of others.
