JAIME’S STORY

Jaime De Los Santos was an incredible man, hardworking, compassionate, and full of love. A devoted plumber by trade and a full-time, reliable presence in the lives of his family and friends, Jaime was someone everyone could count on. His love knew no bounds, and he shared it freely with his family, friends, and even his customers. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, husband, brother in-law, best friend, and godfather.

Known for his deep devotion to his loved ones, Jaime had a unique way of making everyone feel like they were his best friend. His family and friends didn't fully realize it until they came together, but many of them shared the same special connection with him. He truly had a heart of gold.

Born and raised in Van Nuys, California, Jaime stayed close to home, working in the city that helped shape him. He brought laughter and joy into his loved ones' lives daily, especially through his infamous TikTok videos. Not a day would go by without a funny video or a relevant update from Jaime in his family group chat. Whether it was sharing a current event, a silly video, or news about his beloved Dodgers or Pittsburgh Steelers, Jaime always kept them smiling.

Jaime was known not just for his humor, but for his deep emotional presence. His family often joked that he was like Houdini, how could one man be so present, so supportive, and so loving to so many at the same time? He never missed a celebration or a moment to offer support. He was there during their highs and lows, often showing up at the dinner table for a quick taste of what was cooking. He was his family's taste tester, counselor, life coach, teacher, hero, and best friend.

Jaime's sudden and unexpected passing was devastating. His absence is felt deeply every day, but his family finds strength in the beautiful memories and love he gave them. They continue to share stories in their group chat, laughing at his old TikTok videos, and reminding each other just how lucky they were to have had him in their lives.

Through OneLegacy, Jaime's family has come to realize they are not alone in their gratitude. Meeting other families who have experienced similar loss and love has been a gift. The events and ceremonies hosted by OneLegacy, such as the remembrance ceremony and the annual Run/Walk, have been deeply healing. Jaime's family has participated in the Walk/Run for two years, and their team continues to grow. From setting up their memorial display, to walking alongside others in remembrance, every moment is filled with connection, laughter, tears, and gratitude.

One of the most special moments was honoring Jaime through the OneLegacy float in the 2025 Rose Parade, when they participated in the rose placement ceremony. Watching the float ride down the streets of Pasadena on New Year's Day was emotional, powerful, and unforgettable. They look forward to volunteering and helping decorate this year's float in his honor.

Jaime is, and always will be, his family's hero. But beyond their circle, Jaime's generosity has touched many more lives. Through his tissue donation, 396 grafts have been successfully transplanted. Both of his kidneys were also donated, extending life and health to others. Jaime gave everything he could in life, and even in passing, he continues to give.

As his family reflects on Jaime's life and legacy, they know he would be thrilled to be honored in such a meaningful way. Jaime, being a true football fan and always on top of the stats, would have definitely kept track of how many people spotted his smile on the float. They are most definitely sure he would have joked that having his face sailling down Colorado Boulevard in the Rose Parade was his ultimate "highlight reel" moment. And knowing Jaime, he would have made sure his family would tune in and he would have probably sent them a TikTok about it, too.

They are forever grateful for the time they had with Jaime, and they will cherish his memory always. His love lives on in them and in those he helped. Jaime De Los Santos, our forever hero.
