KILLIAN’S STORY

Killian Benjamin Wise was more than just the “baby organ donor” at Northridge Hospital. He was the youngest brother to Aiden and Lorelai. He brought such an unexpected joy to a family deeply affected by war and PTSD; he brought hope and laughter. He was born on Halloween, one of his family’s favorite holidays, and was dressed up with his brother and sister.

Killian was the sweetest of babies and hardly ever fussed. He slept through his entire baptismal ceremony in the loving arms of his godmother, Desiree. He had the eyes of a Precious Moments baby and was a fierce charmer that filled so many hearts with love.

Killian loved cows and playing outside with his big brother and sister. His favorite toy was a musical cow and barn for the car seat that he took everywhere. His older brother Aiden would “deploy the cow” whenever Killian had to be in the car seat, which he did not like. His favorite food was whatever was on someone else’s plate, especially his big sister Lorelai’s chicken nuggets.

Killian’s 10 months of life were about sharing, and his older siblings made sure of that. His smile was infectious, and he loved getting “squeaky” kisses from his Aunties Gina and Lupita. His name means little church, small battle and fierce. Killian certainly was a fierce little angel beloved by his grandparents, Donna Garcia and Steve and Barbara Wise.

Killian was able to donate his heart, kidneys, and liver. “We find comfort in knowing these recipients’ families did not have to suffer the devastation of losing their loved one,” his mother, Alexandra, says, “We plant sunflowers for him and his recipients every year and hope Killian’s recipients are doing well. We are honored to share his history through the Donate Life float.”
