XAVIER’S STORY

Xavier was a first-born child. He was so vibrant, so easy going, and so lovable. He touched everyone that came in contact with him. In the short time that he was here, he was easily his mom's best friend. They were attached at the hip. You couldn't see him without seeing her close by. She loved him so easily and so uninhibitedly. He passed after only 13 months here with them, but in those 13 months, and even still, he taught so much. The most important things his mom learned from him, and OneLegacy, were forgiveness and the power of giving.

Donating her son's organs was the best decision she ever made for him and for her family. Xavier helped save at least 3 other children. He was able to donate his liver, lungs, pancreas, both kidneys and small intestine. Xavier is his family's hero. He inspired many of them to become donors. Through OneLegacy and Donate Life California, the family has had so many chances to celebrate his life and his legacy. They also have the opportunity to share their story and encourage others to make the decision to donate life.

His mom has realized through her participation with OneLegacy and Donate Life how important it is to spread the word of donation. She has seen first-hand how donation can affect so many lives. She hopes to use Xavier's story to touch many more lives and help more families make the decision to donate.

Xavier's mom never thought in a million years she would ever become an organ donor. Now she understands the type of love and sacrifice it takes to become one. To help not just one person but whole families and friends by giving is the greatest gift anyone could ever give, and his mom is so proud to say her son did just that. He gave families more years, more birthdays, more holidays, with their loved ones. While he is not physically here with us, she is comforted knowing there's a piece of him still here helping someone else to continue creating memories with their loved ones.
