TAYLOR’S STORY

Taylor's family described him as "an old soul gentleman and a true cowboy who loved to work with horses." As a little boy he grew up going to his great-grandparents 125-year-old farm. It was the homeplace where his family gathered on the weekends to ride horses, plant, and pick the three-acre garden, and where Taylor would play with his cousins in the woods. He had such a passion for animals and the outdoors. As he grew older, he had a gift with horses and children. They both seem to gravitate to him. Taylor always took time to lead the horses around the pasture so that every child got to ride. He had a heart that lived for everyone else. He was a simple man of 22, wise beyond his years.

Taylor loved sunrises and sunsets. These were common across the fields of the farm and Taylor would always stop what he was doing to breathe in the beauty. He often shared pictures of the sunsets on social media and now his friends say they never look at a sunset without thinking of Taylor.

After graduating from Wren High School, Taylor became a member of the Charlie Company at The Citadel, then served our country in the Army National Guard. He dreamed of being a veterinarian. A senior at Clemson University majoring in Pre-Veterinary Science with plans to attend Texas A&M after graduation, Taylor was on the path to see his dream become reality. Taylor was a country music fan and it was when he and his girlfriend were traveling to Georgia for a country music concert, they were involved in a horrific car crash. Taylor was ejected from the vehicle, suffering life-ending injuries. A decision made by Taylor when he received his driver's license gave his family hope; hope for life after death through organ and tissue donation. Taylor saved four lives through organ donation and countless others through tissue donation.
