Angelo’s Story

Angelo was the embodiment of everything a person aims to be: he gave back to his community, put others’ needs before his own, and demonstrated a sense of humility that personified the idea of selfless love. His life was spent volunteering with underprivileged children and giving them a much needed dose of homeliness and comfort, all while making sure his younger brother and sister were happy, healthy, and leading productive and honest lives.

Family was the most important aspect of Angelo’s life. He put a lot of effort into making sure his younger generation stayed busy and off the streets. In 2002, he began coaching his younger sister’s softball team; she says her brother was her biggest fan, and his coaching was what inspired her to pursue softball in high school and college. In 2011, he coached his cousin’s baseball team and led them into a solid, undefeated season. His younger brother, Paul, was always by his side. They had a bond that was unbreakable: Angelo kept his brother motivated and positive, even when the tribulations of his autism made his life a little more complicated.

Overall, Angelo created a safe space within his family and always offered open doors for communication. His siblings knew that he was always available to talk to them about everything, and he was known for having a welcoming and “give me all your problems” vibe. He always made sure his sister and mother knew what they meant to him, and always found a way to make them understand just how loved they were, whether it was a bouquet of flowers on a Tuesday, or a random message telling them he was thinking of them.

Angelo was a jack of many trades. He loved biking, fishing, and exploring life. Weekends were spent exploring local places with his quad or barbecuing with his dad, enjoying all kinds of music and enjoying and appreciating each other’s presence.

Angelo grew up with a solid foundation of respect and hard work, thanks to the support of his family. He was always willing to lend a hand, and was determined to help others succeed as much as he had. Angelo’s gift of life through organ donation helped saved six people of different ages, who now have a second chance at building their own life and legacy, thanks to this generous gift.
