Tracy’s Story

Tracy Driscoll was a loving mother of three, a dedicated friend and an overall great person. She was a social butterfly and always wanted to be surrounded by people. Even when she physically wasn’t around people, she still found ways to connect with others through Facebook. Tracy endured a lot in her life but was always an upbeat person, with a happy-go-lucky spirit that never wavered.

Throughout her 41 years of life, Tracy lived to help and care for others. Not surprisingly, she made a career as a server in restaurants and was attending school to become a nurse at the time of her death.

Tracy tragically died in January 2013 of a brain aneurysm and a heart attack. She had previously discussed her decision to become an organ and tissue donor with her children. Honoring Tracy’s promise to save lives provided some comfort and hope for her family during a very difficult time.

Even in death, Tracy continued to help others through her gift of life that saved three organ recipients. Her family takes comfort in their loss knowing that her legacy continues to live on in the lives of others. They hope sharing her story will impact even more lives in the future.

Tracy’s family has formed a close bond with Kirby Cochran, who received his lifesaving liver transplant because of her gift. They say Kirby could not be a more perfect fit to receive her gift of life.

Kirby is a devoted husband and father. He’s involved with local charities and is a detective specializing in crimes against women and children. As a rider on the Donate Life Float in the 2017 Tournament of Roses Parade, Kirby will join Tracy’s family in honoring her legacy.
