On May 23, 2007, as he was driving home after having lunch with his best friend, Linda, he had a massive heart attack. Shortly after, his children decided that he would become a donor. This is what he wanted and to this day, he has helped so many. His family was helped knowing parts of him were living on in men, women and children.

Jerry’s Story

Jerry Rowlett was a kind and caring God loving man. He was born on June 28,1945, in Oklahoma, and was raised in Riverside, California. Jerry had two sisters and one brother. Jerry was a man who loved to hunt and fish. He truly loved the outdoors. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam war and was a decorated sharpshooter. Jerry later became a truck driver and was forced to retire due to a back injury.

Jerry was always broke because he always gave everything he had to whoever needed it at the time. He had a heart of gold and a smile you could see a mile away. Jerry loved his family and often took the grandkids fishing. When he wasn’t fishing or hunting, you could find him a yard sale or swap meet. He loved the L.A. Rams and is probably rejoicing them being back in L.A.

On May 23, 2007, as he was driving home after having lunch with his best friend, Linda, when he had a massive heart attack. Shortly after, his children decided that he would become a donor. This is what he wanted and to this day, he has helped so many. Jerry’s family says, “That decision we made gave us a sense of peace. We gained a whole family. Family that is there to help you grieve. While our dad was gone, it somehow helped knowing parts of him were living on in men, women and children. That is a gift you always appreciate. We love and miss you, Dad.”
