Jasmine Marie Jackson always had a smile in her eyes and a dry sense of humor that could make everyone around her laugh. She could lift spirits, motivate and make all who knew her feel special. Jasmine’s compassion for people was apparent from a very young age. As a teenager she volunteered at a camp for underprivileged children. Once an adult she became a counselor at Via West for mentally and physically challenged teenagers and young adults. Jasmine’s compassion for helping others led her toward her goal of becoming a psychologist. Her dream was cut short at the age of 20. However, her legacy continues with her wish of being a donor. Since April of 2013, she has already helped over 30 people with her gift of tissue donation.

Jasmine’s Story

Jasmine Marie Jackson always had a smile in her eyes and a dry sense of humor that could make everyone around her laugh. She could lift spirits, motivate and make all who knew her feel special. Family was everything to her, she was filled with excitement in anticipation of any holiday or gathering.

Jasmine’s compassion for people was apparent from a very young age, when she was only 4 she gave her Happy Meal to a homeless man.  As a teenager she volunteered at a camp for under privileged children. Once an adult she became a counselor at Via West, a camp for mentally and physically challenged teenagers and young adults. When she got her driver’s license she was more excited about registering to be a donor than being able to drive.

Jasmine’s compassion for helping others led her toward her goal of becoming a psychologist specializing in assisting parents of autistic children. Her dream was cut short when she passed away at the age of 20. However, her legacy continues with her wish of being a donor. Since April of 2013, she has already helped over 30 people with her gift of tissue donation.

The responsible and selfless decision she made has not only enhanced the quality of life for others, but has brought hope to her family with the confirmation that from tragedy, miracles can happen.
