Giving life and inspiring others was nothing new to Hally Nicole Yust. In the 9 years she was here on earth, Hally was continually filling her home, her school, her friends, and those she served with energy, color, and a drive to give.  She had a passion for basketball, competitive water skiing, and spreading the word of God.  After a tiny amoeba entered Hally’s body and took her life here on earth, her parents knew that they wanted her to continue to give life to others through organ donation. Hally’s life continues not only through her donated kidneys but also her ministry team and a woman’s basketball scholarship to Kansas State University in her honor.
Hally’s Story

Giving life and inspiring others was nothing new to Hally Nicole Yust. In the 9 years she was here on earth, Hally was continually filling her home in Spring Hill, KS, her school Mighty Oaks Enrichment Center in Gardner, KS, her friends, and those she served with energy, color, and a drive to give.
Hally loved to DO LIFE BIG! She had a passion for basketball. She was born on March 14, 2005, during the NCAA tournament, so basketball seemed “born” into her. She declared that she was going to play basketball in college, become a coach someday, and even try out for the Olympics, and no one doubted that she would! She loved having her dad as her coach for the Gardner Wolfpack.
Hally also loved to be in the water and was a competitive water skier. Along with her brother and sisters, she competed in three waterskiing tournaments. Hally’s family also enjoyed free diving and snorkeling in the Bahamas.
Most importantly, Hally was passionate about spreading the gift of eternal life through knowing Jesus as our Lord. Hally loved Jesus and reading God’s Word. She was baptized at Olathe Christian Church. In May 2014, Hally wanted to share her love of the Bible by raising money to send French Bibles to children in Haiti.
Hally’s love of life seemed to be flowing out in so many ways the summer of 2014 when a tiny organism, called an amoeba, entered her body and took her life here on earth. As Hally’s parents sat in the hospital, they knew that they wanted her to continue to give life to others through organ donation. The family prayed that all of Hally’s organs might be used and are thankful her kidneys were able to be donated. The family was blessed with being able to contact the recipient and hopes to continue to correspond.
Hally’s life also continues to give to others through a ministry called Team Hally, which gives Bibles and spreads love and hope, and through a women’s basketball scholarship to Kansas State University in her honor.
