Evelyn “Evie” Grace Kittle was the light and love of her parents’ lives.  From the moment Evie first made her presence known, her family fell in love with her.  While being carried by her mother, doctors shared the news that Evie had several congenital defects and complications.  On April 4, 2015, Evie was born and took her first breath at 6:48 am, perfect in all ways other than her heart and lungs, which were incompatible with life.  At 7:46 am the same day, Evie passed away and was able to donate her viable organs.  Evelyn Grace was an angel, a princess, and a hero.

Evelyn’s Story

Evelyn “Evie” Grace Kittle was the light and love of her parents’, Elena and Matt Kittle, lives.  From the moment Evie first made her presence known, her family fell in love with her.  While being carried by her mother, doctors shared the news that Evie had several congenital defects and complications.  Evelyn’s doctors believed it was unlikely that she would make it to term as was a very high risk pregnancy; however, she was a fighter and beat the odds. Throughout the pregnancy Evie continued to thrive, grow, and develop into a highly active baby often reacting to music and time in church.

Upon her birth, LifeBanc gave her the job of taking one breath in order to make her a candidate for organ donation.  On April 4, 2015, Evie was born and took her first breath at 6:48 am, while it snowed outside. She was a healthy weight of 7 pounds and 3 ounces, measuring 21 inches, and perfect in all ways other than her heart and lungs, which were incompatible with life.

In her short time on earth, Evie was able to see family, friends, see the sun outside with her father, was surrounded by an amazing team of doctors and nurses, and was even baptized.  At 7:46 am, Evie passed away in the loving arms of her mother.

Evie was able to donate her viable organs through the organization LifeBanc and Donate Life. Her life and legacy live on every day in the hearts of everyone that she touched in her 58 minutes. Her parents and family will be forever grateful for the time they had with her and for the lessons she continues to teach them on a daily basis. Evelyn Grace was an angel, a princess, and a hero.
