FREDERICK’S STORY

"And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make." This was Fred motto that was taken from one of his favorite Beatles songs. His friends and family know that he left this earth with his heart filled with love, kindness, compassion and hope. It is because of his motto that we continue to feel all of these attributes in our hearts and feel his presence in our lives.

If you knew Fred you knew he was the king of great things. Great food, great parties, great adventures, great ideas and just a great person.

Although he was the youngest child in his family, he became the leader and confidant to his siblings and nieces and nephews. Fred always wanted the best for all of his family and friends. More importantly he wanted people to enjoy life and laugh with him. He wanted people to create memories with one another. One of his favorite memory making activities was family camping trips. He single handedly planned family camping trips for all of our family and friends. He would not only feed our group but would feed others who would come by to see the impressive spread that he always created.

Creativity was in Fred's blood. We always called him the Mexican MacGyver. He made everything from Ghostbusters backpacks to casino tables and even a watermelon carved in the shape of a carriage with fruit baby inside. If he could dream it he could make it.

One of the hardest things about losing Fred was losing such a unique and creative person who always gave us such hope for what our futures hold. Yet, through his gift of tissue and cornea donations, we know that people are experiencing and feeling the same sense of hope that he always gave us. It's in these moments that we find comfort in knowing that his motto was so fitting in his life. His motto continues to ring true in the legacy he has left with love for his family, friends, and those who were given the gift of life.
