Medical Director (Skin), AlloSource
Cincinnati, OH

Dr. Richard Kagan is Chief of Staff at Cincinnati’s Shriners Hospital, Director of Adult Burn Care at University Hospital, and Professor of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

At a time when many surgeons are turning to synthetic skin substitutes, Dr. Kagan has been a prominent proponent of using human allogeneic skin grafts as the gold standard for burn care and has helped pioneer many new treatment techniques that have saved and healed lives throughout his 30-year medical career.

In addition, Dr. Kagan is the Medical Director for AlloSource, Chairman of the American Burn Association’s burn registry and coding committees, and a past president of the American Association of Tissue Banks, from which he received the Jeanne C. Mowe distinguished service award in 2006.
