Robyn Doiron loved to laugh, go on vacations, and especially loved her cat Sam. She was loving, kind, and a giving person. "There is nothing she wouldn't do for me or anyone else for that matter," affirmed her sister Rachel. On the night of her accident, she was rushed to the hospital. When LOPA spoke with Robyn's family about organ donation, recalled Rachel, "We all knew this was something that she wanted. It was a decision she had made close to 20 years before. We also know because of her kind and generous heart, she would want to help others in any way, especially if it meant saving lives and sparing pain to their families."

Robyn's Story

As children and as teenagers, Robyn Doiron and her sister Rachel did everything together, including learning to drive. When they got their licenses, they both checked off the box to be organ donors.

"At that age it was something that we wanted to do be, we really didn't know what it meant to donate your organs," said Rachel. "Now, more than 20 years later, I never imagined I would find out firsthand what it was really about."

In their twenties and thirties, Robyn loved to laugh, go on vacations, and especially loved her cat Sam. She was loving, kind, and a giving person. "There is nothing she wouldn't do for me or anyone else for that matter," affirmed Rachel.

On the night of her accident, she was rushed to the hospital. Soon after, the doctors explained Robyn's situation to her family. When LOPA spoke with Robyn's family about organ donation, recalled Rachel, "We all knew this was something that she wanted. It was a decision she had made close to 20 years before.

"Robyn was a Christian and we know she is in Heaven today. We also know because of her kind and generous heart, she would want to help others in any way, especially if it meant saving lives and sparing pain to their families." Donating her organs not only changed the lives of the recipients, their friends and families have been impacted as well. "They will have birthdays, anniversaries, watch their children grow and have a chance to enjoy their lives."

"I miss my sister every day and I wish things could have been different, but my faith carries me and I know God had a reason to call her home to be with him," said Rachel. "I am very proud of Robyn. I am honored and blessed to have had her as my sister and my friend."
