Mike Briggs lived a life a service. He served as a U.S. Marine, a former correctional officer for the Hillsborough, N.H. County Department of Corrections, and as an officer with Manchester, N.H. Police Department.

In 2004, Mike was one of four officers who rushed into a burning apartment building and rescued its 19 residents. Among those he saved was a teenager, who was blind and confined to a wheelchair and the elderly woman who cared for her. For his heroism Briggs received the New Hampshire Hero Award and the Congressional Law Enforcement Award.

On October 16, 2006, 35-year-old Mike was shot in the line of duty while responding to a domestic violence call. By donating his organs he continues to make a difference in the lives of others.

His memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved Mike, including his wife Laura and their two sons, Brian and Mitchell.
