Erica's Story

Erica Mullins was a wonderful mother and loved her two children dearly. "She was a people person and was always willing to help in any way she could," said her mother, Michele Stacy. "She was a beautiful person inside and out"

In May 2005, Erica died in an automobile accident. After the accident, Erica lived for two days on ventilator support and then was pronounced brain dead. "I knew that Erica had on her driver's license that she wanted to be an organ donor and I wanted to honor her wish," said Michele. "The people from Tennessee Donor Services were there to help me in my grief as I dealt with the loss of my daughter. Not only did I receive phone calls, but they also sent me information on helping me to deal with her death. It was very helpful and I appreciated it greatly."

One of the recipients sent Erica's family a letter, said Michele. "It was a letter of gratitude for what Erica had done and thanking me for being a part.".
