T'neil Davon Martin was a 17-year-old rising star who eagerly embraced everyone she met with her beautiful smile. On July 13, 2010, T'neil suffered a brain bleed and seven days later, she gave the best of what she had to give of herself by donating organs, tissue and corneas. T'neil was able to save or enhance the lives of four people, give sight to two others, and touch the lives of many more through her gift of tissue. "We will never be able to count the number of people T'neil has truly touched," said her mother, Denisha Henry. "We know we have honored her legacy through her life-saving gifts."

T'neil's Story

T'neil Davon Martin was a 17-year-old rising star who eagerly embraced everyone she met and every encounter with her beautiful smile. She loved her family, friends and shopping but more importantly she loved herself. She was making plans for college or the Navy.

T'neil spent her last summer as a high school student with the person who knew her best, her twin sister, D'neil. T'neil's last post on Facebook read, "I might not have everything I want and everything may not go my way; but at least I'm happy & that's gotta count for something :)."

On July 13, 2010, T'neil suffered a brain bleed caused by a collection of blood vessels that did not form at birth. Upon hearing the news that her condition would take her life, T'neil's family made the decision to donate her organs so that another family might not have to stand in the same shoes.

Although T'neil had not registered as a donor, her family felt that donation would be the best way to honor the life of a young lady who believed in living life to the fullest. On July 20, 2010, T'neil gave the best of what she had to give of herself. Through organ, tissue and cornea donation, T'neil was able to save or enhance the lives of four people, give sight to two individuals, and touch the lives of many more through her gift of tissue.

"We will never be able to count the number of people T'neil has truly touched," said her mother, Denisha Henry. "Whether it be through her love, or her laughter, her smile or genuine concern for those she knew or crossed her path or whether it be through the lives of her recipients, we know that we have honored her legacy through her life-saving gifts."
