Marvin and Michael's Story

Marvin Reznik is both a donor father and a transplant recipient. Following an accident that fatally injured his son, Michael, the Reznik family made the decision to donate his organs for transplant. A few years later, Marv was in need of a liver transplant. Thanks to the same generosity that his family showed, another family donated and saved his life.

As a result of his personal experiences, Marv has brought lifesaving donation to the forefront of his professional life as a funeral director, educating colleagues about the importance of working with families to make donation possible. In addition, he has shared his industry expertise and served as an academic advisor for several educational seminars for forensic and medical professionals hosted by Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network. Marv also volunteers as a public speaker, influencing thousands about organ and tissue donation. For Marv, all of his efforts serve a single higher purpose: to honor the gift of life. “Donating life is the greatest legacy of all,” says Marv.
